Overview
In Sanka, objects are fundamental components of your modules, representing data categories like products, customers, or orders.
Object properties are the fields or attributes that define the characteristics of these objects. For example, a "Customer" object might have properties such as "Name," "Email," and "Phone Number."
This guide provides a detailed walkthrough of creating and editing object properties to customize your Sanka workspace according to your business needs.
Process to Create and Edit Object Properties
Access Object Management page
1: Access the Object Management page by clicking Workspace Management button and select Object Manager.
2: In this page, you will see the list of all objects available in your workspace.
Add a New Property to the Selected Object
3: Locate the object you want to edit. In this case, we will choose Items object. Click on the object name to open its default properties and configuration page.
4: Click the Add New Property button.
5: Fill in the required details for the new property:
- Property Name: Enter a descriptive name for the field (e.g., "SKU," "Discount Rate").
- Property Type: Choose the data type, such as text, number, date, dropdown, or choice.
6: For example, we will use Choice type. Once you select it, new fields will show up. Filling the Label and Value will be required for Choice type to be working. To show more choices field, click on Add Choice button.
7: Toggle this option if you want to allow multiple choice.
8: Click Create to add the new property to the object.
9: The new property you’ve created will be displayed here.
10: After you’ve finished adding new properties on selected object, click Update button.
Check if the New Property Is Applied
11: Go to the object that recently edited, for this case Items object. Open an existing record or create a new one to verify that the newly added property is visible and functional in the detailed page.
Edit Object Properties
12: Access the Object Management page and select the Object where the property is used. Then click the property you want to edit.
13: You can either change the property name and choice.
14: The setting fields will be adjusted as per Property Type chosen. If you’ve done adjusting your change, click Update button.
15: You can also delete the unused property by clicking the Delete button.
